22/04/2009 12:00:00
The team behind the Lloyd Sponsored Grand Prix of Great Britain, Rounds 4 & 5 of the SPEA FIM Trial World Championship, ares delighted that the course-building activity for the event has now been successfully completed. Designed by co-promoter Graham Jarvis, multiple British Trials Champion and SSDT winner, the course in the compact sandstone quarry at Nord Vue, Armathwaite, comprises a variety of sections designed to test the skills of the World’s best riders to the full.
Together Graham and Keswick Plant’s Neil Wilson have created and modified the World Championship sections to ensure the obstacles are to their satisfaction. The natural terrain has been complemented by the addition of several large boulders and stone slabs. Awesome steps, drops and jumps are combined with technical rock outcrops and natural contours which will provide excellent entertainment. Thanks to no fewer than six showcase sections in the main quarry area, spectators will get a close-up view of the competitors’ skills over the weekend of 16th and 17th May.
Now the section-building project is complete, the promoters have plenty of time to ensure the entire site is ready to exceed the expectations of riders and fans alike. The Portuguese round of the Trial World Championship takes place shortly and then it will not be long until it is Cumbria’s turn to host this prestigious event in the World Trials calendar.
