It is also a fact that there is ALWAYS a British rider on the podium but they all ride for foreign teams.
These foreign teams secure British riders who want to ride for GB, but either can’t afford to finance their rides independently or who’s father’s can’t afford enough holiday annually to make competing viable. Therefore their only option is to ride for a foreign team.
Everything changed when Ace Trials Team launched in September 2006: The British World Trials Team was born. In 2008 ATT male riders Jonny Walker & Lee Sampson, along with ladies Donna Fox, Joanne Coles & Katy Bullock changed trials history when between them they stood on the World podiums representing a British team five times.
Trials is expected to be in 2012 Olympics. We have to have British lads. On the podium riding for “Ace” and for GB or their Olympic medals will have been won by a French, Spanish or Italian teams!
